It has a maximum amp draw of 50, runs on 12 volts, and has a good speed control that enables trolled speeds ranging from 0.5 to 3+ mph. The SC model is noted to have pre-set forward and reverse with variable speeds while the non-SC model has variable speed forward and reverse. However, customers noted several issues with the product, from arriving with a broken propeller to stopping working after only a couple of months of light use. The most significant issue was water in the lower unit causing multiple servicing needs and replacements. One customer was unsatisfied and claimed that the high price wasn't worth the reliability issues. However, others, including customers who used it for primary propulsion, were pleased with how quiet and economically it ran.
