Games Workshop Tabletop & Miniature Gaming 110-01 Editorial Review
**** The Games Workshop Warhammer Underworlds: Starter Set has quickly garnered praise from both novice and experienced players alike, making it an exceptional entry point into the expansive world of Warhammer. The set is highlighted for its engaging gameplay, straightforward assembly, and the opportunity it presents for both playful interaction and creative expression through painting. Most notably, players appreciate the detailed and varied models that are a standout feature compared to other Games Workshop products like Warhammer 40K and Age of Sigmar. The ability to Construct different warbands without the immediate necessity for glue makes the initial setup not only easier but also more accessible for those new to the hobby. Even though some models can be delicate—especially the ethereal warband—taking care during assembly can mitigate breakage. Another significant advantage of the starter set is its affordability, particularly praised by customers for the value it provides at a price point around $30. Customers have noted that this price includes everything needed to get started: multiple warbands, game boards, rivals card decks, and all essential tokens and dice. While the included rulebook has been mentioned as outdated, the availability of the latest rules online helps ease any learning curve concerns. Newcomers to miniatures might require a few additional tools like sprue cutters and paint supplies to fully enjoy the painting aspect, but the product's overall low barrier to entry has left many players feeling confident in their purchase. The game’s blend of strategic depth and fast-paced action keeps players coming back, while the supportive community and numerous online guides provide ample resources for progress. In summary, the Warhammer Underworlds: Starter Set positions itself as a highly recommended option for anyone looking to immerse themselves in the Warhammer universe, combining easy-to-learn mechanics with an artistic outlet that appeals to a wide range of players. **
