Maxpedition Game Belts & Bags Editorial Review
The Maxpedition Proteus is a durable and high-quality butt pack (or versipack) made from excellent materials with an all-khaki design. Although it is quite small with a main compartment that measures only 6.5 inches, it is well organized with a divider and three small pockets/sleeves. The two side pouches are also small, limiting the size of the items that can be carried, and the opening for the main compartment lacks a map flap, making it unsuitable for use in the rain. However, it can serve as a good companion pack for carrying light camera gear or as an EDC for short daily walks. The bag is versatile, with different carrying options and can be securely attached to the bottom of other Maxpedition backpacks via the molle strips. The bag is perfect for tactical jogging or short perimeter callouts but may be too small for other needs. Overall, it is a good product for its intended uses and its quality and looks are to be expected from Maxpedition.
