Great Stuff Thread Sealants Editorial Review
The GREAT STUFF Fireblock 12 oz Insulating Foam Sealant is a popular product for its intended purpose. It effectively fills cracks and holes in walls or cinderblock, making it suitable for insulation. However, it is important to note that it may not pass inspections for fire blocking in certain areas. Some customers have reported that it did not meet fire code requirements and had to be replaced with fire-rated caulking and wood blocking. Despite this, the foam is sticky and easy to use. It is also versatile, with customers reporting successful use to seal open areas in travel trailers to keep pests out. Clean-up can be challenging as the straws are mostly single-use and the foam hardens. Acetone can be used to clean unhardened foam, but it is advisable to get extra straws and clean the can between uses. Overall, this product is effective for insulation purposes but may not meet all fire blocking requirements.
