The Mullard EL84 tubes are newly manufactured copies of the old Mullard tubes, made to the old specs. Individually boxed, when purchased as a quad, these tubes have 9 pins on them. They can replace the 6BQ5 tubes, but this has not been tried. Customers have spoken very highly about these tubes. They have noticed a significant improvement in their amp's sound quality after installing these tubes, particularly regarding tone, fizziness, and warmth (compared to previous tubes).
