MicroKits Tabletop Synthesizers Editorial Review
The MicroKits Synth-a-Sette presents itself as a fun and engaging tool for both budding musicians and seasoned tinkerers. This cassette-sized analog synthesizer has garnered attention for its quirky design and versatility, offering users a unique way to create music with unconventional materials like bananas and plants. Many users highlight the ease of use and simple setup process, making it a hit among those looking for a creative outlet or an introduction to electronic music. Creativity is at the forefront of the Synth-a-Sette experience, allowing users to build their own banana keyboards and experiment with sound. The presence of controls for volume, tuning, and vibrato enhances the experience, appealing to users who appreciate hands-on musical experimentation. Users also mention its potential value in educational settings, as it serves as a fantastic introduction to electronics and sound synthesis. However, the product does come with a few limitations. Notably, users cannot press two keys simultaneously, which could restrict musical composition for some. Additionally, while many find it reasonably priced for a unique gadget, others feel that the cost does not fully align with the features offered, especially when compared to more conventional MIDI controllers. In summary, the MicroKits Synth-a-Sette is celebrated as an innovative and playful synthesizer that invites creativity while providing a memorable educational experience. **
